The entry point into the specialty nursing courses occurs at the junior level.
To be admitted to the university the student must complete and submit a Common Application for Admission to Texas Public Universities. All required documents such as transcripts or ACT/SAT/TASP scores must be included.
A minimal GPA of 3.0 (4 point system) for the last 60 hours is required for admission to the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. NOTE: No courses with grades of "D" or "F" are accepted for transfer. If courses are going to be transferred the procedure for transfer found at the “Office of Admissions” website must be followed. Refer to the fact sheet for Generic Nursing Program transfer/PB students.
Admission to the nursing specialty – or to the junior level where the specialty nursing courses begin - requires another application. The application is separate from the Common Application for Admission to Texas Public Universities.
Students do not have to complete all prerequisites to be able to apply. All prerequisites must be completed prior to entering the program, if accepted. The pre-requisites are posted to the Core curriculum requirements for TAMU-CC (or an accredited Texas college/university).
